Gifts of Warmth Program

Have a passion for knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting? If so, consider becoming a Gifts of Warmth volunteer at the West Allis Senior Center.  

Work at your own pace creating handmade items such as mittens, blankets, scarves, and hats, which are donated to area organizations for distribution to veterans in need, homebound adults, homeless populations, and local schools.

The yarn and fabric are provided, you share your time, talent and creativity. Accepted items include

  • Hand sewn polar fleece mittens.

  • Knitted, crocheted, or loomed hats, scarves, or mittens.

  • Knitted, crocheted, or quilted blankets or afghans.

  • The West Allis Senior Center accepts donations of four-ply yarn and new polar fleece fabric for its Gifts of Warmth Program.
