National Avenue Corridor Plan
Adopted in 2016, the National Avenue Corridor Strategic Plan outlines a holistic vision for the redevelopment of the National Avenue corridor.
Recommendations
The plan identified eight specific actions the City should take to support redevelopment, engagement, and market development. These actions primarily focus on the identification of "Corridor Target Investment Areas," creating new funding programs, maximizing Tax Incremental Financing Districts, and incentivizing rehabilitation and adaptive reuse.
Progress
The National Avenue corridor has made major progress since the adoption of the National Avenue Corridor Plan. The City has rebuilt nearly the entire corridor from 62nd Street to 95th Street, launched successful economic incentive programs to assist small businesses, and attracted a wealth of new energy, vitality, and investment in the corridor.
