Project Limits

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is scheduled to extend a new street from the existing W. Washington Street (S. 70th Street to the dead-end) further east to connect to S. 60th Street.

A shared use path is proposed along the north side of the new street. There will be retaining walls along the new street due to the large grade difference. The existing traffic signals along S. 60th Street will be shifted to the south and the driveways will be shifted from S. 60th Street to the new street. Multiple railroad tracks will be removed to make the connection to the existing W. Washington Street. 

Common Council approved W. Allis-Chalmers Drive as the official new street name.
